Transportation in Split by taxi and bus

The town centre is for pedestrians only. The sea side route from the ferry port to the ACI marina is a pleasant pedestrian promenade. But to make that same route by car you must go all around the Diocletian's palace trough the Marjan's tunnel. So don't be surprised if it seems that the taxi driver appears to be going around in circles!

Taxi in Split

Main taxi stands in the city are at "Prima grad", on the both ends of the Riva promenade and on the main inter-city bus station. You can call them on the phone by dialing 970.

Bus public transportation in Split

The public transport system in Split comes to buses which cover all of the town frequently enough. Buses run from around 5am to nearly midnight. Service is daily and quite frequent such as 10 minutes on the major bus lines 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 17 but on other lines which go out of the city you may have to wait for an hour Monday to Saturday and find no service on Sunday.

The main station for all local buses is at the National Theatre - "Pazar". Bus tickets cost 9KN for one way and you can buy tham at the bus stops or from the bus driver.
