Prime Minister opened a new section of A1 motorway Ravča Vrgorac

'The opening of this highway section reminds me of our journey towards the EU because it was necessary to build viaducts and tunnels, and cross many obstacles. This day is historic because for Croatia today formally concluded negotiations on joining the EU,' the primeminister added. She also pointed out that Croatia is the only state to Greece after 30 years to enter the EU alone.

The Prime Minister said that she hopes to open the next section of highway next year as it is "the ultimate goal of connecting to Dubrovnik." She said the construction Ravča - Vrgorac cost a billion and 100 millions of Kunas.

The contract value of construction work Ravča-Vrgorac is about 717.54 million kuna, excluding VAT. The total investment value of the works on the Ravča-Vrgorac, including the viaduct Kotezi, whose value of constructions was 218.97 million kuna.

Work on the building section were conducted by a business association consisting Hidroelektra-Civil Engineering Inc. lead partner, Viadukt d.d. Zagreb, Konstruktor-inzenjering dd Split, Zagorje-Tehnobeton, Strabag doo Zagreb, Osijek-Koteks d.d. Osijek and Ingra d.d. Zagreb. Height toll on the Ravča-Vrgorac rate is 4Kuna, and from Zagreb to Vrgorac 191 kn for passenger vehicles.

The most important buildings on the section of the viaduct Kotezi, length 1226.6 mi Umac tunnel 440 m long right tube and 386.7 m iron pipe. Other buildings on the section are viaduct Gradina, Crip viaduct, viaduct Sare, Paklina viaduct, overpass D512, Nikolići overpass and the overpass Node Vrgorac Vrgorac.
